Dr. Richard Hill took a cantaloupe and a honeydew melon and created the Anne Arundel melon. This is an example of the colonial plant genetic selection. Explore how genetic selection has been used in many portions of the garden at London Town in the past up until the present day. Students will learn the basics of genetic selection in plants, see special plants that were created in our gardens, and create a "genetically selected" plant of their own. For ages 6-14.
